Daydream
We all have people in our lives that we want to kill but unfortunately can’t. Murder remains illegal in all 50 states and is universally considered impolite. We can choose the people in our lives – friends, lovers, even neighbors. But we cant choose all our coworkers and we cant choose our families. Ironically, work and family, where some of the biggest assholes in our lives tend to lurk, are places where we spend the most time and require the most cooperation among people. We have all had that moment where we are faced with our antagonist – a bad boss, an odious relative, a faceless bureaucrat and we start to fantasize what we would do if we just acted on that little voice saying: “Kill! Kill! Kill!”. Yet we must exercise restraint to remain free and honorable individuals. We found the healthiest and most therapeautic way to deal with the rage was to channel it into our music. The result is “Daydream” and hopefully it says what we know all of you have thought from time to time – marveling that someone else didn’t already kill your asshole boss. This is a great song to listen to as alternative to choosing a weapon. We should state that no one was hurt in the making of this production. Mission accomplished.
Song Lyrics:
Verse 1
Angst again I cant see clearly
Laughing at the joke you are
Beside myself you stand before me
How’d it get this far?
Pre Chorus
the hand that I’m dealt I’ll play
Chorus:
All in a haze of blinding anger,
I swallow my rage hide it away
I sit and I wait for your reckoning
And pray for the day you feel the pain
Verse 2:
I cant believe that no one’s killed you
I cant believe your still alive
drops of blood to quench my fury but
You don’t deserve to die
Pre Chorus
And for your sins you’ll pay…..
Chorus:
All in a haze of blinding anger,
I swallow my rage hide it away
I sit and I wait for your reckoning
And pray for the day you feel the pain
Bridge
To let you steal just one more moment
Of the peace I hold so dear
Is to concede you spread your torment
STILL
I cant let you win..
Verse 3:
Its me who fails if I let my anger
Ruin my day or steal my peace
How could I grant you that power,
Its you I release…
